How we source SIEM pricing figures
Cost ranges on this site are based on public reference material across the SIEM landscape. The publishers below are representative of the kind of source that informs our positioning, not an exhaustive extraction map per figure. A specific figure on a specific page is not necessarily anchored to a single named publisher.
Sources
- Vendor public pricing pages. Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, IBM QRadar, Elastic, Sumo Logic, LogRhythm, Exabeam, Securonix, Devo, and others where pricing is publicly disclosed.
- Marketplace listings. Azure Marketplace and AWS Marketplace published price points for SIEM and observability tooling.
- Public analyst reports. Gartner Magic Quadrant for SIEM (where pricing context is published), Forrester Wave research (where public), and IDC SIEM market research published for editorial purposes.
- Practitioner survey data. Public SIEM-cost surveys and write-ups from Reddit r/cybersecurity AMA threads, Spiceworks community polls, CSO Online and ISMG industry coverage.
- Managed-SIEM provider public pricing. Where MSSPs publish floor pricing, that becomes the band for the managed-SIEM column.
How ranges are constructed
For each pricing model (per-GB, per-EPS, per-user, flat-rate), we collect data points across the named source landscape, normalise to current-year USD, and report a working band rather than a single point estimate. Tail quotes that depend on bespoke licensing concessions are excluded.
What we deliberately do not publish
- Specific customer contract values. Where a specific organisation's SIEM contract value is known to us through public reporting, it is described in band terms only.
- Vendor-private list-vs-discount math. Bespoke discount levels are commercially confidential and change per-deal. Our calculator outputs a list-price-band estimate; expect 20-40% movement on a real negotiation.
- Side-by-side feature grids. We publish positioning notes per vendor but not feature grids. SIEM feature parity changes quarterly; static grids are stale within months.
Update cadence
Cost ranges update only when the underlying reality changes. Triggers:
- Major vendor pricing-model change (e.g. flat-rate to per-EPS, or vice versa).
- New entrant publishing pricing materially below the existing band.
- Marketplace published price changes greater than 10%.
- Major SIEM acquisition or product retirement (e.g. ArcSight transition events).
Editorial position
This site is operated by Digital Signet, an independent AI-development studio. We do not sell SIEM software, do not run a managed-SIEM service, do not act as a SIEM reseller, and do not accept paid placements from any vendor in the SIEM space. See /about for the operator and the wider network.
